The VCF Academy launched the #AcademiaEnComunidad social action campaign earlier this season. The initiative involves the football teams that train daily at the Ciudad Deportiva, along with the VCF Foundation and -most recently- the VCF Soccer Academy in Houston (USA).
he American offshoot of the VCF Academy ran an event several weeks ago, collecting and delivering food and toys to those most in need. "It feels great to be helping people in need, and we are very happy to be representing Valencia CF here in Houston," said one of the volunteers.
"It warmed my heart to see the smiles on the faces of the children," commented another of the young players who, together with the VCF Soccer Academy coaching staff, participated on behalf of the nearly 200 members.
The action was carried out jointly with the church to which the fields where the VCF Soccer Academy train and play belong: King’s Palace RCCG in Katy (Houston). Money raised was donated to the church, for the purpose of buying more toys and food that were distributed on a festive day.
The event was also attended by the Valencia CF mascot.
The Valencia CF Academy in Houston began its activity in 2020, and is part of the Valencia CF International Academies project, which already has 15 centres spread across North America, Europe, Africa and Asia. The objective is to spread the image of Valencia CF and the working methodology of the VCF Academy around the world.
