Valencia CF to compete in LaLiga FC Futures International tournament
The U13 team won the tournament on its latest edition.
VCF Juvenil A kick off the second stage of the Grupo VII season this weekend against U. Archena, in a phase that sees the champions of the group and spots in the Copa de Campeones decided. The team and rivals Atletico Madrid, Villarreal CF and Levante UD A are separated by just a single point currently.
A promising start to 2021 has seen 9 wins and 3 draws for the team, and coach Miguel Ángel Angulo believes that a lot of credit is deserved by the players.
"The team have responded in an extraordinary way. Faced with difficulties, they have managed to overcome them. We have had a tremendously difficult year, with five lockdowns and many postponed games," say the Valencia CF legend.
"We have gone from months with only one match to a month of February where we had 8 matches. It is of great merit that the players have responded in the way that they have and we are very proud to coach them."
"This is maybe the best moment of our season. We had a couple of weeks to prepare for a run of games every three days, during two months. Unity has been very important, and we've made everybody feel that there has been a role for them in the squad," comments Angulo on the packed schedule.
"Everybody has come in and there have been rotations, with everybody performing at a high level. That has been key. Everybody has done their best, and when it has been their turn to play they have done so well."
"We are very proud of this group and we are very confident that they will continue to do things well. If they continue to perform and compete with the same motivation, we are optimistic about reaching the end of the season challenging for the best results."
"Our aim is to be winners of the second phase go into the Copa de Campeones. We are excited and it is a challenge. I think Valencia CF haven't been in that competition for a long time. Being able to reach that final phase of the Copa de Campeones would be an unforgettable experience for the players."
