Anil Murthy: “The values of LaLiga Genuine are shared by the Valencia CF family”
The Ciudad Deportiva at Paterna hosted the final phase of the LaLiga Genuine campaign this past weekend, and Valencia CF president Anil Murthy gave a speech at the closing ceremony of the competition.
"Congratulations on the organisation of LaLiga Genuine this season. It's been amazing. It's a fantastic project that has to continue," he told those in attendance, including LaLiga president Javier Tebas.
"For Valencia CF, it's exciting and a source of great pride to hold the final stage here at our home. I hope that you've all enjoyed this weekend here in Valencia. It's also an honour for us because Valencia CF have worked for social inclusion for many years. Valencia CF have worked with a DI team for many years. Through our VCF Foundation, we continue working more and more every year on this aspect. I'm also happy that we have organised the final stage here where the VCF Academy work, because it's where we train young people to become not only good players, but good people as well, with the correct values."
"We can learn a lot from LaLiga Genuine, such as values, passion, dedication, compassion and fair play. They are values which, in the great family that is Valencia CF, we all share," he continued.
"They are values that we want to defend at this club. That's why we are going to eradicate all forms of violence around this club. Some media outlets could also learn about the value of fair play, instead of selling 'fake news' and sensationalism to take away from our great year. The only reality is that we are a cup winning side, and we are in the Champions League. However, today it's about you, and you are the champions, as you are every day of the year."
