Bordalás: "The feeling is good, although this has only just begun"

José Bordalás analysed his side's excellent 3-0 win over Deportivo Alavés at Mestalla in his post-match press conference on Friday night, praising the positive start from his team to 2021/22.

Attitude and commitment

First of all, I want to congratulate the players. Their behaviour was excellent in terms of attitude, commitment and the way that they played. It was a great game. We managed to go ahead very early and we controlled the game. We minimised the virtues of the opposition and went 2-0 up before halftime. In the second half we were in control. With the third goal, the team were able to manage play. I want to thank the fans, because their commitment is very important for us in games at home, making Mestalla are a tremendously tough ground for the opposition.

The atmosphere at Mestalla

Hopefully we can see Mestalla full soon. I think the fans, the city and the team need it. Interesting things have been seen in terms of the game and the group. The collective is more important than any of us. All the players worked for the team and that is very important. The fans recognised it. We always look at it with the caution that this is only the beginning of the season and we still have to improve many things, because this has only just begun.

A good start to the season

Having achieved seven points deserves a lot of credit. It is not easy for any team, because the start of the season is tough. Valencia CF have started out with a new coach, and with changes in some positions. The feeling is very good, but this has only just started and we have to grow as a team.

Guedes

Guedes is a Valencia CF player and we are calm about things. He's happy. He intends to have a great year and help the team, and we are not considering any other possibility other than that he continues with us. However, the transfer market is open and we do not know what may happen. We have to enjoy this victory. We go into the international break with a good feeling. We have time to prepare for the next game.

Balance

It is very important to find balance. It is essential to be a team with great defensive and offensive strength. It is very good news not to have conceded goals at Mestalla. We have to keep working. The players want to work and to help Valencia CF.

Alderete and Marcos André

The team had a great game. Alderete was very attentive. After the goal in Granada he had a thorn in his side, and today he had a great game. Marcos André has just arrived. He has just had one training session with his teammates. The feeling is good and we think that he will help us a lot when he integrates. I think he is going to be a very, very important player.
