Cañizares interviews VCF Legends

The former Valencia CF goalkeeper got the opinions of several of the club's greatest ever players before the legends game at Mestalla

Santi Cañizares interviewed several of the VCF Legends before their game against the Spain Legends at Mestalla, and even gave his own thoughts on his time at the club and the importance of the fans.

Santi Cañizares: “I took the decision to come to this club and it was the best choice I made in my life. Here I found the love of the fans and their passion for football. Outside of Valencia they say that this is a nervous fanbase, but the applause at Mestalla is something you don't get at any other stadium. I was lucky to be surrounded by great teammates and I only have words of gratitude for this club."

David Albelda: “It's a dream for a Valencia who has supported Valencia CF since he was little to achieve what we did with a great team. It's an enormous joy to be here. I hope that the team achieve the joy that fans deserve in the Centenary year."

Claudio López: “It's an honour to be here, a source of enormous satisfaction and an honour to receive so much love from the fans. I'm happy."
Amedeo Carboni: “I'm very happy to be here. In the end, everything that we won and experienced at Mestalla wouldn't have counted for anything if it weren't for these people."

Kily González: “It's a pleasure to be here. There are many memories that come to mind when one returns here. We enjoyed many great days at Mestalla, but if I had to pick one, I'd go with the match against RCD Espanyol in the season in which we won our first LaLiga title together."

Miguel Ángel Angulo: “With every trophy we won, I always saw the love of the fans for the club. I'll always remember the 1999 Copa del Rey in Seville, and the victory parade around Valencia in which we went through Mestalla and the Plaza del Ayuntamiento. I'll never forget the affection and the warmth that these people transmitted to us."

Claudio Ranieri: “The 1999 Copa del Rey meant a lot. It gave us a project and an idea about our football, and we had good players with the desire to make Valencia CF great. It's an honour to be the coach of the VCF Legends today, and a pleasure to be here with these stars of the Centenary."
