E. Barrenechea: "We are having a great second half of the season"
The Valencia CF midfielder speaks to VCF Media
Edinson Cavani gave his thoughts on a tough game against Real Valladolid, won 2-1 by Valencia CF at Mestalla.
Suffering together
We had been working hard, trying to do everything in our power to try to turn the situation around, and things were not working out for us. The Valencianistas have to understand that, just as they suffer, we who are on the pitch also suffer more when we aren't able to change the situation. We have to stick together. The fans have to keep lifting us up and they have to keep supporting us. Today the win was not only thanks to the team, it was thanks to the fans who encourage us and take us forward. It is very important, they play an important role. We have to be united so that this season can end in the best way.
A great goal from Javi Guerra
At that moment you don't think about anything other than what you did, and these things turn out like that. He gave us great joy. There was no time for anything else but to hug him and enjoy it, because we deserved it. The game was against us and it is difficult to play when a team close you down and play with an advantage, and you are at home and you have to get the result. It was a source of great joy.
Keeping together
We are always together. I think we have to understand that we have to deal with the situation together, because we are all Valencia CF. We hadn't been able to win two games in a row. These are very important points in a stage of the season where things are difficult and points are very valuable to us. They need to stick with us and we will give everything until the end to reverse the situation. Beyond the fact that the objective at the beginning of the season was different, today the objective has changed. We have to focus on trying to get out of the bottom and make sure that this season ends in the best way.
