Celades: "We will try to have the activation that Celta game requires"

The coach believes his players will be ready for the LaLiga game against the Galician side on Saturday

Albert Celades has been preparing his side for their game against Celta Vigo, and he spoke after Friday training to preview the LaLiga Matchday 22 contest.

Preparing for Celta Vigo

"We are going to try to go out there from the very first moment with the 'activation' that a game like tomorrow's requires. It's what is needed in an elite level contest. We are concerned about the effort that we made in the Copa del Rey, with extra time, on a pitch that wasn't in the best condition and was muddy. That will have worn down the players, but we will try to do the best we can."

The opposition

"I hope that we can continue with this situation. We are up against a side who aren't in a good position in the table, but who are full of talented players. They are players of a very high standard, especially from the midfield and beyond. The reality is that they haven't been able to find that stability in their performance, leaving them in the position they are in. However, those players can get back to that great level of talent that they have at any time, because they are very good. They are top level players, many of them."

Florenzi in the squad

"He's looking good. He's undertaken two training sessions, he's come here in shape and he's here to play. That's why he's ready to help us straight away. He's in the squad and we will evaluate how we are going to use him; he's a player who can help us a lot, as he is a high level player and we are happy to have him with us."

Competition for places at fullback

"I'm not worried about it. Internal competition is very good for making sure that everybody gives their all. There is also competition for other places, and in the end it benefits the team."

Talking with Rodrigo

"We've spoken about his situation and he's calm and raring to play. He wants to participate and enjoy his job. I'm convinced that he can recover and play well. We have a recent example of this, as last summer he had a move to Atletico cancelled, in what was a long process. He recovered from that and played like he has been up until now, at a top level, and that's why FC Barcelona wanted to sign him. He's been through this situation before and I'm sure that this will help him now."

The Copa del Rey quarterfinal against Granada

"We always want to win, and we face each game with the intention of winning, with the best mentality. There aren't many games to go before the final, but every contest seems very difficult to me. We've seen what is happening in the Copa del Rey; this format evens things out a lot, and we've seen that already with the great Primera División sides who have been knocked out. We will prepare as best we can for the game. Granada are having a very good season and showing a lot of strength -as well as being very consistent. We are going to try and prepare as well as possible. The final is still too far away to think about it."
