Baraja: "We want to dedicate the victory to the victims and those affected by the 'DANA'"
The coach previews the game against Real Betis
Manu Vallejo enjoyed his first minutes of European action this Tuesday, debuting in the Champions League against LOSC Lille. The winter signing, who joined Valencia CF full-time from Cadiz CF in the summer, had yet to play in the competition, although he had been part of the squad for the game against AFC Ajax and the first fixture against the French side.
In attendance for his bow in the top European club tournament were his family: Parents Javier and Ana, and brother Álvaro. They had travelled from the south of Spain to Valencia for the occasion, and were able to see Vallejo make a 36 minute second half appearance at Mestalla.
He came on in the 54th minute as a replacement for Kang In, and offered energy, pace, desire and attacking ideas to the side. He played on the left hand side and combined well with his teammates in a fantastic turnaround, which saw Albert Celades' men combe back from 0-1 down to win 4-1.
