Hugo Duro and Hélder Costa had their first day of training with Valencia CF on Thursday, and following the session they chatted with VCF Media about their arrival in the final moments of the transfer window.
Excitement
We've come here with a lot of excitement and a desire to get to work. We started today, but we're looking forward to day-to-day life here.
A big step
I think that this is a big step for me. It's a big, historic club with lots of trophies. There will be a lot of demand, but I'm very excited and looking forward to giving everything for the team.
No doubts about the move
When I found out about the opportunity, I had other options but had no doubt about coming here. This will be a very nice experience and I never doubted coming here.
José Bordalás
The coach knows me and what I can contribute, and I know him. I know what he asks of his players, and this could help both of us.
Goals and hard work
I'm a player who can play in several positions, who normally does what the coach asks, and scores goals. I'm a fighter and a hard worker, humble and a well-rounded player. I'm going to do everything for my own good, and for that of the club -which normally goes hand-in-hand.
Mestalla
I've played on the away team at Mestalla and it's amazing. It's an enormous stadium and the fans spur the team on in a great way. I'm looking forward to playing there on the home team.
The club
Valencia CF are a very big club, and I'm really eager to get to know my teammates and start working. I'll be giving my all for the team.
Talking to Rodrigo
The first thing that I did was talk to Rodrigo Moreno, who was my teammate at Leeds, and he only had good things to say about Valencia CF and the city. It was a very easy decision to make. I'm happy to be here.
His friendship with Guedes
He was my teammate at Benfica. I've known him for a long time. He sent me a message before I came here to tell me that I had everything in place to evolve at this club. I'm very happy to be here.
Valencia CF's style
I spoke a little with the coach before coming here. I saw some highlights of the team and could tell that they play fast, attractive football. I felt that this would fit with my style of play.
Portuguese speakers in the squad
I've already seen that in the group there are many players who speak Portuguese. I'm very happy to be here, and to train with players of this quality.
A fast style
I'm a fast player who likes taking players on. I'm a team player and, whilst I like scoring goals, I also like setting up my teammates.
Mestalla
I've never been to Mestalla before, but I'm eager to play there in front of the fans. I think it's going to be a good experience for me.
