“We play for you, Valencia”
Cristhian Mosquera, Javi Guerra and Diego López will compete with Spain's Under-21 side
Valencia CF will take part in an eighteenth European quarter final in 2018/19, and their first since 2013/14, thanks to their win against FC Krasnodar in the UEFA Europa League.
The club have reached the last eight in continental competition four times in the European Cup/Champions League, nine times in the Europa League and its previous incarnation as the UEFA Cup, three times in the Fairs Cup and twice in the European Cup Winners Cup.
Of course, one of VCF's most famous periods saw them reach the Champions League final in consecutive seasons, losing out in 1999/2000 and 2000/2001. Before that, they had played for the most prestigious trophy in Europe on two further occasions.
European Cup Winners Cup victors in 1967/68 and 1979/80, their success in that competition came after a pair of Fairs Cup wins in 1961/62 and 1962/63 and the runners-up spot in 1963/64.
In the competition that Valencia CF currently aspire to win, they have got as far as the semifinals twice (2011/12 and 2013/14) as well as lifting the trophy in 2003/04. They are just four games away from repeating the latter feat.
