Enith Salón, a World Cup winner with VCF DNA
Enith Salón Marcuello picked up a new and outstanding piece of silverware to add to her sporting, personal and emotional array of honours.
The Valencia CF Femenino goalkeeper won the World Cup with the Spanish Women's National senior side after beating England by a 1-0 scoreline in the final on Sunday, 20 August 2023, in Sydney (Australia).
Enith, born in Moncada (Valencia) on 24 September 2001, joined the youth academy at the age of 11, in the 2012-13 season. Her DNA is VCF and she is a role model for all the players in the Academy.
On 27 January 2019, at the age of 17, she made her official debut for Valencia CF Femenino in a league match, in the top flight. On 11 November 2022, she made her debut with the Senior Spanish National Team; and this Sunday she enjoyed the World Cup she won with Spain.
Pablo Moreno, Valencia CF Femenino goalkeeping coach, talks about Enith in the following terms: "Everything that has happened to Enith in recent seasons is the reward for the work-rate and sacrifice she puts in every day, both at Valencia CF and in the national team. Youngster, homegrown player and Valencianista, she is an example both on and off the pitch".
