In the just over 18 months since he made his debut for the club, on November 30th, 2017 against Zaragoza in the Copa del Rey, Ferran Torres has become one of the sensations of Valencia CF. The teenage talent is about to complete his first full season with the senior squad, and his frequent appearances in coach Marcelino's plans have made him, as of the game against SD Huesca last Sunday, the youngest ever player to reach 50 appearances for VCF.
At 19 years and 66 days, Ferran surpasses legends such as Fernando Gómez, Miguel Tendillo and Javier Farinós, who also celebrated a half century of matches before their 20th birthdays.
"It's always special," Ferran told VCF MEDIA after his 50th appearance.
"For me, every game that I've played for the first team has been special, but if I had to choose just one of the 50, I'd go for the one in which I scored my first official goal for Valencia CF, in this year's Copa del Rey against Sporting. That was a very special day for me."
"The moments that we experienced after the two cup ties against Real Betis and Getafe CF were unforgettable. It was very emotional with the fans. This has been an unforgettable season for me and for the team."
Ferran could feature this Thursday in the UEFA Europa League against Arsenal, in which Valencia CF will have to overcome a 3-1 deficit from the first leg.
"I believe in the team and I know that we are going to give 100% to go through. We know that the fans are going to help us a lot, and if we play as we know how, we are going to progress," said the youngster with great conviction.
The 19 year old is working hard to make sure that the next 50 games are just as memorable as the first.
