Ricardo Arias: “Playing the first match at Mestalla is a big boost - we have to take advantage of it”
The Valencia CF legend and Club ambassador reacts to the LALIGA EA SPORTS 2025/26 fixture list on L’Informatiu on VCF Media Radio.
Dimitri Foulquier continues to adapt to his new life at Valencia CF and is looking forward to making his debut at Mestalla in front of the fans. This is what he has expressed to VCF MEDIA, also looking at his career, his values and his goals.
Adaptation
I am very happy to be here. Now it's time to adapt to the group and colleagues. A lot of them are not here right now, but everything is going well.
Beginnings in football
Like many children at six years of age, I used to watch football and say: ''one day I will be a footballer''. Then I started playing in my homeland, in Guadalupe, little by little. Since becoming professional footballer, I am more about thinking in the short term, training well, progressing, improving and what has to come will come.
Confidence and work
My family told me that in the world of football there are many who want it and very few are lucky to get it. The important thing is to be confident, keep working and at the end you'll see a reward.
Angloma
I've seen Jocelyn Angloma a lot since I was little. His son is my age and I played with him in the Guadalupe team when he was little. I know he's an idol here in Valencia.
Formative years at Stade Rennes
I was part of the Guadeloupe team and we went to play a tournament in France. There were many teams watching the games and some clubs approached me. I decided to go to the Stade Rennes. My parents were convinced and trusted the team. It was time to adapt and fight.
Arrival in Spain
When I was 20 years old, I had an offer from Granada CF and I came to Spain. It was difficult at the beginning because it is a very strong and fast football, but even in difficulty what you have to do is work and improve.
Bordalás
When I arrived at Getafe CF, I had had a lot of physical problems for two seasons and Bordalás gave me the opportunity to play in LaLiga again. We had a very good season.
Philosophy
I see myself as a player who gives everything. Sometimes it turns out well and sometimes not as good, but the important thing is to give everything, because when you give everything you will improve. You reach your limit and you still go further. That is always my goal.
Desire to play at Mestalla
I really want to play with a full Mestalla and as a Valencia CF player. That will come and we will enjoy it.
