Baraja: "We want to dedicate the victory to the victims and those affected by the 'DANA'"
The coach previews the game against Real Betis
Gabriel Paulista spoke to VCF Media following the Valencia-Real Sociedad game on Wednesday at Mestalla (0-1)
Assessing the game
We have to take away something positive in the sense that we started the game well and had a lot of intensity. We had prepared the game well, playing against a very good team that do well with the ball. The sending off hindered us a lot and even so we tried to find the equaliser. It's a shame that we couldn't come away with at least one point here at Mestalla, where we can't give away points. Now we must rest up, since we have only a few days between games, and compete again on the weekend.
Receiving recognition from the fans
When you have difficulties and you keep fighting, fighting and looking for something positive, the fans are not stupid and they know what we are working for. This club can get back what it was before: A strong club and a strong team. We are working for this. Today we showed it in a good, well-contested match, in which we tried to find a goal, but we couldn't get it. Now, we have to pick ourselves back up. There are only a few days in which to recover and then we will compete again. We must try to find a positive result away from home.
Daily work
We are working well, taking care of ourselves well and competing well. We are showing it at the start of the season with good games. We have won against very good teams like Sevilla away from home and Atletico Madrid at home. We are competing and we have to continue like this. There is a long way to go, and hopefully we will be able to celebrate something important for this club.
The importance of Mestalla
I want to thank the fans because they are always behind us. When things are bad they are always together with us. They know that we are competing and they are going to support us until the last game. When you work hard during the week, things come through in the games. We'll continue working. There are young players who are standing out and I hope they can continue like this. The most experienced players have already achieved positive things and we are looking for something more.
His return from injury
I wanted to get back playing. I was able to play a few minutes today and I once again experienced the feeling of being at Mestalla, being on the pitch and helping my teammates. It is difficult to enter a game cold when you are a man down, but we have to fight. I don't have to say or prove anything. Everyone knows the love I have for this club and I am going to fight until my last day here.
