Voro was part of the 'old school' Valencia CF youth system, which did not boast some of the advantages that those at the VCF Academy enjoy today.

"My reward came when I was brought into the first team and got my first game, after 10 or 12 games in the squad without being brought on."
Gayà lived at the Ciudad Deportiva for three years, and where he lived for 3 years. He knows the advantages that it brings, and also identifies with the difficult moments that players their spend away from their families.
“In my time, only two players from VCF Mestalla moved up to train with the first team. Now there are many more who are brought up, because the club have the VCF Academy and give opportunities," said Gayà , who joined at Alevin level.
