Baraja: "We want to dedicate the victory to the victims and those affected by the 'DANA'"
The coach previews the game against Real Betis
After the tough loss against Granada CF on Matchday 16 Valencia CF captain José Luis Gayà spoke to VCF Media and shared his feelings on the team's performance.
Tough loss
There's not much that we can say. We leave here hurt, just like when we played Sevilla and Getafe. There have been a lot of games like this, in which we've conceded a lot of goals in the final minutes. We knew that it was going to be a difficult game, but I think that we had a very good first half. Their goal came from a free kick, and that really killed us. We went into the break hurting, because we thought that we had been doing things well -then that goal came.
I don't think that the team played like in the first half in the second period. Then we had the sendings off. In the end, the game was evenly matched until we went two men down, which made it impossible.
The team won't give up
We can't give up. We haven't done that in any game, and we always try. With one or two players fewer on the pitch, you always try; it's not a question of attitude at all. However, we're struggling to win games, and right now -with the way LaLiga is- we are where we are. We are far down the standings, but we have to be optimistic and look ahead. There is no alternative. We all have to get through this together. We are hurt, but we're already looking ahead to the game against Cadiz.
Next opponents: Cadiz
Today was a 'final' as well, as was the game the other day. We've lost a lot of these 'finals'. That's the reality. We have to win games, because if not then we will be at the bottom, because LaLiga is so evenly matched. That's what we have to do: Win the game on Monday. If today was a final, then just imagine the game on Monday. We can't fail to win that game, and we have to approach the match with that mentality.
