Back to scoring ways after a 3-month drought, Maxi Gómez reacted to his strike against Granada and the 3-1 win at Mestalla.

"I'm very happy with the work by the team, and also with the goal. I'm always looking to score, and sometimes you can't do that. Today I managed to, and I'm really pleased. It was a phenomenal cross from Carlos Soler, and we know how much class he has."

Returning to form

We'd had a very poor run at home in front of our fans. We're very happy to have ended that. The support from the fans was fundamental. I always say that they are our twelfth man, and the players are all very grateful to them for supporting us like that. I'm happy about the victory and we have to keep on this path .

A striker's role

"I think a striker always wants to score goals. Sometimes you have to work for the team but today I'm very happy because I was able to score."
