Baraja: "We want to dedicate the victory to the victims and those affected by the 'DANA'"
The coach previews the game against Real Betis
Hugo Guillamón returned to action late on in the defeat to Alavés, wearing a protective mask following surgery on his nose earlier this week. He spoke to VCF Media after the final whistle.
A tough defeat
"We came here with a lot of desire to end our winless streak and taking three points to get higher up the table. But we leave here with a defeat that is not what we wanted. We have to continue improving because next Sunday we have another big game."
Increasing the intensity
"We were warned that Alavés, at home, with what is at stake for them, were going to come out with a very high intensity, and that we had to match it. If a team puts much more intensity into the game, the difference in quality is not noticeable. They came out more switched on than us, they scored a quick goal and it was hard for us to react."
Needing a victory
"A team that wants to be up at the top can't go six games without winning. We're finding it hard. In the first half of the season there was a stretch in which we went many games without winning. We all have to take a step forward and get a victory as soon as possible."
The game against the FC Barcelona
"Now we have another game at home. The fans are sure to help us. We have to face it with the motivation of getting the three points."
Returning after nose surgery
"I felt a knock right away. I think I'm fine. I bled a little but I think everything is fine."
