match Report: Valiant Valencia CF return to winning ways amidst heartfelt tribute (4-2)
Heartfelt and valiant home win dedicated to the victims and those affected by the flash floods.
Hugo Guillamón experienced one of the greatest nights of his fledgling career at Valencia CF on LaLiga Matchday 9, as the team put on an incredible display to beat Real Madrid 4-1. The centre back was in top form, helping the side to a well-deserved win.
"We were focused from the first minute to the 90th. We worked very hard, helped one another and take away three points that are going to be very good for us," he told VCF Media.
"We believe in how we play, and in our players. Even though Real Madrid went ahead, we reacted well and equalised quickly."
Although the night was near-perfect, Guillamón would have preferred there to be fans in attendance to enjoy it with the team.
"We would have loved to have the fans here. We feel their support from their homes, but we want them to be able to come here," he said.
As for the penalties, Guillamón remarked that "We all had confidence in Soler. We practice penalties in training. He scored all three, and he deserved that."
"We are a young team. The veterans help us. We have a lot of desire and we are going to put Valencia CF where the club deserve to be. Despite us not getting the results that we want, we will keep working. We are very happy with this victory."
