Baraja: "tHE TEAM kePT going AND COMPETED UNTIL THE END"
The Valencia CF coach talks after the 2-2 result against Deportivo Alavés
Ilaix Moriba has joined Valencia CF on loan until the rest of the season, and the new signing spoke to VCF Media about his aspirations for his time at the club.
Joining Valencia CF
I wanted to come here, and I thank the club for everything that they've done. I want to thank the president and everybody who has made it possible for me to come here.
I just want to give my all on the pitch. Every time that I play, I try to do the best that I can. I try to do my best for the team every time that I play, and give the coach what he needs. We are going to try to make the fans happy and put Valencia CF where the club deserve to be.
Coming to Mestalla
As a kid, you always had it put into your head that Mestalla was a difficult place to play. The city is wonderful. Now that I'm here, I have to perform to my best and give my all, in order to put Valencia CF where the club has always been.
Debuting for his country
I come here with my morale at a high. I was able to debut in the African Cup of Nations with my country. That was something that I loved. I'm very happy, and motivated to continue playing here -and to show my worth.
Giving his all
Whenever I play, I try to give everything that I have. I always like to compete and I don't like losing. I identify with the club's philosophy. I'm happy that the coach will be able to help me in whatever way he can. I'm going to try to learn everything that I can from him.
His shirt number
I was asked which shirt number I wanted. When I was told that the number 23 was available, I didn't hesitate. The number 23 is one that I identify a lot with, because of all of the great legends who have used it.
