E. Barrenechea: "We are having a great second half of the season"
The Valencia CF midfielder speaks to VCF Media
On the occasion of Valencian Music Day, Valencia CF made an institutional visit to the new headquarters of the Federación de Sociedades Musicales (the regional music society federation).
A group of representatives headed by President Anil Murthy and including Executive Director Joey Lim and VCF Ambassadors Ricardo Arias and Miguel Bossio, among others, were shown around the facilities provided in Alqueria Julià by CaixaBank.
The administrative headquarters are a 17th century building which has become a ‘House of Music’. It will house the cultural activities of the Federation, its Study Centre, research work and the FSMCV archive, and soon -as announced by the Federation President Daniela González- will become "a cultural area for all citizens."
González thanked the club "for its presence in bringing attention to our new home, the home of all musical societies," and gave Mr. Murthy a guided tour explaining the activity carried out by the FSMCV. She also highlighted the experience that brass bands have when they visit Mestalla to play before kickoff and at halftime.
"It is magic that our musicians create. It makes the atmosphere at Mestalla before each game something extraordinary," she said.
The Valencia CF President also referred to this tradition, saying that: “It is an honour to be here with you to visit your headquarters. The traditions that we have at Mestalla are very important. Musical bands are something that I hope I can come back to the stadium soon. It is a tradition that we are going to support, and which is unique. The connection between music, football and the fans is very important, and it is something that I hope we can see again soon."
He presented the Federation with a framed constitutional act and a Valencia CF shirt as a souvenir of the visit.
