Jaume's dedication an inspiration in preseason

The goalkeeper and captain has always been a dedicated and tireless worker during the summer months

Much has changed for Jaume Domènech in the six seasons in which he has gone from a promising talent to a club captain. Ample experience in LaLiga, a Copa del Rey winners medal and countless amazing saves have been added to his résumé since 2013, but one thing has remained the same: His committment and dedication in preseason.

The goalkeeper, who is never out of shape and even has his own gym at his house, is aware of the need for fitness at the start of a new campaign. It has been a constant driving force behind his success, and was evident upon his arrival at VCF Mestalla.

In a 2013 preseason camp in Oliva, Jaume would suprise his teammates with his willingness to get things underway early. At 7am, the shot stopper would already be running through his warmup exercises, in order to be as sharp as possible for training. He would -and still does- treat each session as if it were a cup final.

It is an attitude that he carries over into the present day. Now, as well as leading by example and inspiring his teammates, he is in close contact with the coaching staff and brings the squad together, ahead of what is an important season for the club. As important off the pitch as he is on it, Jaume's exemplary conduct is set to give those coming up from the VCF Academy someone to look up to, and demonstrate the values instiled at the Ciudad Deportiva.
