'UNITS COM SEMPRE': VALENCIA CF AND PUMA's T-SHIRT IN SUPPORT OF THE VICTIMS OF THE DANA
100% of the amount will go to help children affected by the DANA to return to sports and educational activities.
Jaume Domènech watched from the other end of the pitch as Carlos Soler stepped up to score three penalties against Real Madrid, but also contributed with some saves of his own in the 4-1 win at Mestalla. The club captain hailed the efforts of the entire squad -and the club- for the spectacular Matchday 9 triumph.
"Above all, I want to highlight the unity and trust that we have in the group -amongst every player. I think that has been the most important thing. We'd had the second half against Elche, the game against Villarreal as well, the match the other day againt Getafe... which I think we deserved to win. We managed that today. We're very happy, because the group deserved it," he said in conversation with VCF Media.
"It's a win for the team. From the head of the coaching staff, to the kitmen, to the club doctors. We've kept united despite bad results, and we've believed in ourselves."
Asked about how it feels to lead a young side against one of the top teams in LaLiga, Jaume said that "The team is made up of young players, who still have little experience, but you can see the talent that they have. They give us a lot of good play and dynamism. It's a virtue that this team have. The more veteran players amongst us have to provide other things. Little by little, the team is going to grow. We have to focus on our everyday work."
"It's very important to have the identity of the club in the first team, because we know what it means. You understand the situation and the demands, and you can help the newer players. We are also very happy that we got to greet the VCF Legends the other day, to listen to their experiences."
He was the furthest man away from the spot kicks, but what was it like for Jaume to watch Carlos Soler's penalty hat-trick?
"You suffer a lot, but we have a lot of confidence in Soler. He's a machine. He's scored from four now, and he'll keep going."
