Iranzo: ''We'LL be eternally grateful to the teammates and the people of the town"
The player from Picanya talks on VCF Media Radio about his experience after the flash floodings that devastated the southern region of Valencia.
This Friday, Layhoon Chan held a meeting on behalf of Valencia CF with Joan Ribó, Mayor of Valencia, Sandra Gómez, Deputy Mayor and Councillor for Urban Planning, and Lucía Beamud, Councillor for Public Areas. Representing Valencia CF, the club’s Director General, Sean Bai, Director of Operations, Christian Schneider, as well as Legal Director Javier Solís, also participated.
Upon the conclusion of the meeting. Layhoon Chan spoke to the media to convey Valencia CF's vision of the discussions.
“In my press conference three weeks ago, I spoke of four points on which we had reached an agreement. On Monday, we presented a report in relation to those four points and today we have met here with the Mayor, the Deputy Mayor and the person in charge of granting licences, to see the steps to follow at this time.
Precisely today, the Generalitat met to terminate the ATE. We, obviously, have not yet received the notification, so we will wait to receive it in order to study it.
The City Council tell us that they must also wait for the ruling in order to study it and that, once they receive that document, they will tell us about the new agreement that must be established.
Until we receive that draft, in which they are also going to talk to us about the new urban plan, we perhaps find ourselves in a situation of more uncertainty than three weeks ago.
I have conveyed that the club are more prepared than at any other time, that the timeframes are very important and that it is necessary to work together to carry out this important project.
The City Council will have to study the resolution and we will see what they propose to us in that draft. However, I have emphasised to both the Mayor and the Deputy Mayor that we are very close to starting and, therefore, we should not start from scratch.
I am confident that we will work together to resolve things. If I'm being honest, this is a little bit of a step backwards. However, at the press conference I did tell you about the positive attitude of both parties, based on the fact that the project is very relevant and interesting for the city.
I have not spoken with the Generalitat yet. I will do so when we have the document.”
