Diego López: "Scoring a goal at Mestalla is something magical"

Marcelino García Toral previewed Saturday's Matchday 2 game against Celta Vigo in his Friday press conference, discussing the first away fixture of the season, Carlos Soler's injury, Maxi Gómez' return to Balaídos and more.
The match
"The game is going to be tough, because Celta are a good attacking side who have strengthened that facet of their play very well. They also have some very important players from last season. We know that last year they were one of the most prolific sides in the competition. They have some very important players, such as Iago Aspas, who are capable of a very high level of play, and other squad members who have proven quality. I know two of them -Denis Suárez and Santi Mina- very well. I have great professional and personal affection for them, as well as gratitude. I hope that they don't have their best game tomorrow, and we will try to make sure that they don't."
Maxi Gómez' adaptation
"He is getting better with every week. He's an extraordinary kid: Young, open, committed... He could play at any moment. He didn't participate last weekend because we had to make a defensive change; if not, then I'm sure that he would have taken part. I can't guarantee how many minutes he will play, nor if he will start, but we have great confidence in him and we have to be patient in terms of his performance. I hope that it comes immediately, but it isn't easy for a striker to come to a club like Valencia CF -who have been working in a very specific way for two years."
Carlos Soler
"The three options that we have (as replacements) are: Ferran Torres, Kang In and Daniel Wass. We have two big absentees: Coquelin through suspension and Soler through injury. That allows other players to feature, and we will go with one of those three options, but it does generate an alarming situation. We had said repeatedly that we need a versatile, attacking player for several positions; now we have Carlos Soler out for what is expected to be several weeks, that option has been accelerated."
Squad morale after the Real Sociedad game
"We're expecting a difficult game. It will be difficult, because Celta have great attacking potential. I think that they are a mid-upper table side, without a doubt. They are playing at home and come into the game off the back of a defeat against Real Madrid, and a very, very difficult game awaits us. However, we are in good shape. The team dropped 2 points in the 100th minute last week, because of something that can happen in football. That's why football is so great: You can get the chance to kill the game off, not do it and your opponents can take advantage of some avoidable mistakes, leaving you with a game you had practically won ending in a draw.
There was disappointment for us all, but a few days after, with analysis of what we have to improve and what we did well, we face the next game with the sole intention of winning."
Kang In and Ferran Torres
"Kang In and Ferran already played last season. They are two tools for us -two players whom we believe can be important for the future of Valencia CF. The coach will decide on them, trying to be as fair as possible and always looking out for the best interests of the team, whether that means they play, don't play, get into the squad, start games or come on as substitutes. Both are players who cover the needs of Valencia CF."
The importance of winning
"Winning tomorrow is the most important thing, and that's why I will try to use the players I believe are most appropriate for that. We only have one plan, and that is to win. Over 90 minutes we need to be precise with our finishing -whether the opposition are superior or inferior to us- to take the three points. A win would be very good news for everyone."
