VCF Femenino central defender, María Jiménez joined the team at 18 years of age and the new contract extension will see her continue until the 30th of June 2023.
Thus, the central defender (born in Alicante on the 17th of September 2000) whose contact was running the 30th of June 2021 will now remain tied to Valencia CF Femenino for four further seasons.
She is taking strides in her development, learning from her mistakes and honing her attributes like her strength and defensive robustness.
The central defender made her first-team debut on Matchday 5 last season at home against CD Tacón at the Antonio Puchades. She boasts 19 Primera Iberdola appearances to her name five in the 2019-2020 season and 14 in the 2020-2021.
She joined from cross-town opposition Levante UD where she played for two seasons and before that, she spent a season at Elche CF and seven years at Sporting Plaza Argel.
She was a permanent fixture in Spain call-ups at Under 16, 17 and 19 levels and she was crowned U19 European champion for Spain Under 19 in Switzerland back in the summer of 2018.
Valencia CF Femenino central defender, María Jiménez, caught up with VCF Media upon signing her contract extension.
María Jiménez: “I think Valencia CF is the best place for a young player to develop at. It’s one of the best clubs in Spain and it gives you all the trust in the world”.
