Valencia CF welcomed Getafe CF on Sunday the 1st of November at 9 pm kick-off time at Mestalla on Matchday 8 of LaLiga Santander amidst a series of heartfelt tributes leading up to kick-off to Valencia CF’s late legendary kitman Bernardo España Edo who endeared himself to the Mestalla faithful.

Valencia CF grew into the game following Yunus’ opener as minutes later, Denis Cheryshev tried his luck but his shot blazed over the bar. The game got cagier going into half-time.

Valencia CF had a carbon copy of a start to the second half sitting back deep in their own half and things took a turn for the worse when Thierry Correia got sent off on 55 minutes for a double booking.
The game saw a stop-start spell with plenty of tackles flying in as Valencia CF defended resolutely deep in their own half defending their 1-0 lead. However, Valencia CF had two guilt-edged chances in quick succession late on in the second half.
First Uroš Račić who managed to get his shot away but could not quite guide past the keeper and then Toni Lato who was denied by David Soria and the game swung in Getafe’s favour with two late goals.
However, Valencia CF were awarded a spot-kick deep into stoppage time. Carlos Soler stepped up to dispatch the ball straight down the middle to earn Valencia CF a hard-fought point in an eventful game at Mestalla.
Valencia CF will host Real Madrid on the 8th of November at 9 pm kick-off time at Mestalla on Matchday 9 of LaLiga Santander.
