Valencia CF travelled to Seville to visit Sevilla FC in midweek action on Tuesday 18th of October at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuan at 7 pm kickoff on Matchday 10 of LaLiga. 

Valencia CF had a positive start to the game so much so, that Edinson Cavani put Valencia CF in front just five minutes into the game with an absolute bullet of a header past Bono following a pin-point Foulquier delivery.

Valencia CF continued to dictate possession which caused the opposition problems.

However, Giorgi Mamardashvili produced heroics with mesmerising back-to-back quickfire stops to deny former Valencia CF man Rafa Mir to keep the scoreline at 0-1.

Ilaix Moriba and Lino came mighty close to doubling Valencia CF's lead with two successive efforts.  First Ilaix Moriba with a downwards header that went over and then Lino after winning the ball back high up the pitch forced Bono to make a save.

Samu Lino thought to have doubled Valencia CF's lead after lifting the ball over Bono following a deft Cavani through ball.

Alas, the goal was ruled out by the tightest of offside margins just over the half-hour mark.

Valencia CF had to withstand Sevilla FC's attacks in the closing stages and they managed to hold out to take a 0-1 lead at the break. They nearly doubled their lead just before the break but Ilaix Moriba's effort flew over the bar.

Valencia CF came out quick out of the blocks looking to press high up the pitch and win the ball in the second half. 

Ilaix Moriba tried his luck with a tame effort which went straight at the keeper. 

The game saw an end-to-end spell and the opposition had a goal ruled out for offside against Rafa Mir.

Valencia CF struggled to get a foothold into the game after the disallowed goal as momentum swung in Sevilla FC's favour. 

Gennaro Gattuso shuffled his pack with a double substitution with Cavani and Lino making way for Justin Kluivert and Marcos André.

Valencia CF showed their stall out in defence withstanding several Sevilla waves of attacks without settling into the game.

Erik Lamela made it 1-1 to Sevilla FC in the 86th minute.

Both sides kept on pushing for the winning goal.

Valencia CF came mighty close to running away with all three points in an eventful ending to the game where Valencia CF were awarded a spot kick deep into stoppage time. Gayá failed to convert the penalty. 

Alas, the game finished with the points shared at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán.
