Valencia CF played versus Girona FC on Sunday at 4.15 pm at Montilivi on matchday 27 of LaLiga Santander. Valencia CF had a slow start in the first minutes of the match. Gonçalo Guedes scored his first goal of the season after a great through pass from Rodrigo into the Portuguese winger who got in round the back of Ramalho to slot it past Bono.
Eight minutes later, Jonas Ramalho made it 1-1 from a free-kick heading it home. Valencia CF continued looking to retake the lead. Jose Luis Gayàplayed a one-two with Kevin Gameiro but Gayà’s shot was dealt with by Bono.
Gonçalo Guedes stung Bono’s palms who split it after a great run, too hot to handle and Bernado cleared it off the line. Valencia CF kept on pushing for the goal but the first half between Girona and Valencia CF finished 1-1.
Valencia CF came out in the second half looking for the goal and they found it eight minutes in the manner of Dani Parejo who drilled in a low shot past Bono from the edge of the box to put Valencia CF back in front.
Facundo Roncaglia was sent off for Valencia CF for a second yellow for a bad foul on Cristian Stuani which meant that he will miss next match against fourth-placed Getafe at Mestalla. Valencia CF were made to work in the latter stages of the match, Girona were awarded a late penalty after a VAR check and Cristhian Stuani scored the resulting penalty.
There was a late twist in the tale when Valencia CF flew forward on the counter, Kondogbia threaded a deft ball into Ferran Torreswho charged down the right wing forcing Bono off his line and slipping it past him to snatch a late away win for Valencia CF.
