VCF Femenino were off to a strong start with a triple chance from Asun, Čonč and Altuve, but Sullastres and the backline denied them the opener. Three minutes earlier Pujadas was subbed off through injury nursing a complaint to her left knee.
Over the quarter-hour mark, both sides were bringing menace up front through free-kicks and corner kicks without clear dominance but with plenty of intensity in every play, as both sets of goalkeepers resolutely denied chances at either end of the pitch ahead of the water break on the half-hour mark.
On 38 minutes, R. Otermín tried her luck from outside the 18 yard box and her effort whistled past the top left corner.
Minutes later, Ana Torrodà enjoyed a direct free kick and her shot was pushed away by Sullastres but Esther showed aliveness to the rebound and broke the deadlock in the closing minutes of the first half.
VCF Femenino edged Sevilla FC at the interval.
The opposition came out quick out of the blocks looking to equalise as VCF were trying to counter-act it by being really focused. VCF Femenino’s backline was really alert to the opposition long balls, their main attacking outlet.
VCF Femenino were brining menace up front with intricate link-up play down the wings and from set pieces. On the mark both teams were contesting for every ball and giving their all in every piece of play.
On 68 minutes E.del Estat scored the equaliser to Sevilla FC as a draw was insufficient for both sides. Alas, Coleman made it 1-2 on 82 minutes.
A.Torrodà came close to making it two goals apiece from a direct free kick but the ball fizzed past the top right corner.
Jansen came close to snatching a last gasp draw deep into stoppage time, but the scoreline remained unchanged.
