Match Report: Kang In late winner inspires VCF back to winning ways against RVCF ( 2-1)

Valencia CF welcomed Real Valladolid CF on Tuesday 7th of July at Mestalla at 7:30 pm kick-off time (local time) on matchday 35 of LaLiga Santander for their penultimate match of the season.

The match saw a tight start with Valencia CF playing their possession-based football and Real Valladolid well-positioned keeping a tight line. Geoffrey Kondogbia had the first Valencia CF but he could not quite head it cleanly at the near post.

Moments later, aforementioned Geoffrey Kondogbia had a go from distance with a low effort which fizzed wide of the post over the quarter minute mark in the game bringing danger up top.

Maxi Gómez drew first blood for Valencia CF on the half-hour mark after pouncing on a Real Valladolid defensive mistake Kevin Gamerio squared it across the face of goal for Maxi Gómez to slide home at the back post to mark his second start under Voro and break into double figures in LaLiga.

The floodgates opened after the water break with VCF providing aplenty in the way of danger and dominating in the closing stages in possession. Valencia CF edged Real Valladolid ahead at the intermission by 1-0 scoreline.  

Valencia CF the worst possible start to the second half as Victor García made it 1-1 to Real Valladolid CF right after the restart with Valencia CF being put on the back foot by Real Valladolid after the goal. Minutes later, Valencia CF enjoyed a series of corners and Maxi Gómez headed it straight at the Real Valladolid keeper.    

Voro made a triple substitution over the hour mark in the game with Manuel Vallejo replacing Kevin Gameiro, Carlos Soler making way for Kang-In, and Dani Parejo coming off for Francis Coquelin.

Manuel Vallejo tried his luck but his shot bobbled wide. Both sides kept on pushing for a winner with Daniel Wass and Denis Cheryshev coming on late on in the match and Maxi Gómez crashing an effort against the crossbar and Jaume Doménech keeping it locked together at 1-1 with three great saves in quick succession.

Kang In snatched away all three points for Valencia CF late on in the game with a scintillating bending effort inside the near post past Jordi Masip for his second of the season. Valencia CF took a much needed and deserved win as they brought the bad run to an end.

Valencia CF will travel to south Madrid to visit CD Leganés on Sunday the 12th of July on matchday 36 of LaLiga Santander for their penultimate outing of the season at 7:30 pm kick-off time.
