The Valencia CF coach talks after the 2-2 result against Deportivo Alavés
Valencia CF welcomed Granada CF at Mestalla on Saturday the 5th of March at 6:30 pm kick-off time on Matchday 27 of LaLiga Santander.
Valencia CF had a positive start to the game with Carlos Soler sending a free-kick which whistled over the bar. Alas, a minute later, Valencia CF were forced into a substitution as Toni Lato had to make way for Jesús Vázquez.
Marcos André hit the post on the quarter-hour mark after weaving his way into the opposition, but he was flagged up for offside.
Valencia CF were put on the backfoot over the midway point of the first half in an end to end relentless spell at Mestalla that saw both sides trying to make inroads in the game.
Valencia CF kept on pushing for the opener, but the first half finished goalless at the break.
The floodgates opened in the second half with Goçalo Guedes’ precision header on 48 and two minutes later, Maximiliano Gómez got in on the act with another brilliant header follwing a fine Carlos Soler assist to give Valencia CF a two-goal cushion.
Alas, Granada CF halved the arrears on 56 minutes to get back into the game. However, Carlos Soler restored Valencia CF’s two-goal lead shortly afterwards from 12 yards out slipping the ball into the net.
Valencia CF managed to see out the remainder of the game to round off a mesmerising week picking up back to back home with the Mestalla crowd right behind them and the height of Fallas festivities around the corner.
Valencia CF will visit Getafe FC on Saturday the 12th of March at the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez at 9 pm kick-off time on Matchday 28 of LaLiga Santander.
