Match Report: Valencia CF edge out SC Arosa to Advance in Copa del Rey (0-1)

Roman Yaremchuk’s first goal for Valencia CF and an in-form Jaume send VCF into the last 32 of the Copa del Rey

Valencia CF travelled to Galicia to take on Arosa Sociedad Cultural on Tuesday the 5th of December at 9 pm kick-off time at the Estadio Municipal A Lomba in Villagarcia Arosa, Pontevedra for the second round of the Copa del Rey.

Valencia CF had a positive start to the game with Marco Camus as Valencia CF’s attacking outlet.

Shortly after, Roman Yaremchuck got off the mark for Valencia CF slamming the ball across the keeper on the turn after collecting a rebound inside the 18-yard box under the ten-minute mark in A Lomba. 

Valencia CF continued to pen back the opposition inside their own half as the floodgates opened with Valencia CF enjoying a few forays forward down the flanks, dead ball situations and ball possession.

The remainder of the half went off without further incidents and Valencia CF edged Sociedad Cultural Arosa by a 0-1 scoreline at half-time at the Estadio Municipal A Lomba.

 

lencia CF had a slow start to the second half as the opposition came out all guns blazing in the second half with a double chance for Miguez which was denied by a scintillating double save by Jaume Domènech.

Valencia CF struggled to settle into the second half as the breakneck end-to-end spell continued over the hour mark.  

Selim Amallah forced Raúl into a fine save at full stretch following a peach of a free kick delivery halfway through the second half at the Estadio Municipal A Lomba.

Rubén Baraja shuffled his pack with a double change first-team debutant and starter Marco Camus and Pablo Gozálbez made way for first-team debutant Ali Fadal and Fran Peréz respectively.  

Long-term injury returnee Alberto Marí was given a runout for the last ten minutes of the game.

Minutes later, Jaume Domènch produced heroics to deny Siylla with a superb stop in the dying embers of the game.

Valencia CF managed to dig deep and hold out to advance to the last 32 of the Copa del Rey. Valencia CF will be back in action on Friday, December 8 at 9 pm kick-off time at the Coliseum against Getafe CF on Matchday 16 of LaLiga EA Sports.
