Match Report: VCFF fight back to earn a point (1-1)

VCFF ran out onto the pitch firing out on all cylinders pilling the pressure on Athletic Club all over the pitch. The Basques enjoyed more of the ball. VCFF grew into the game and dominated the game over the 20-minute mark with nothing to show for it.
On 30 minutes, Cristina Cubedo got on the end of a corner kick delivery but the player crashed her header against the crossbar. The only clear cut chance in the game thus far. However, Erika made it 0-1 for the visitors against the run of play with a drive from outside the area.
VCFF trailed Athletic Club by 0-1 at halftime with all to play for in the second half.
VCFF came out in the second half looking for the equaliser. Marta Carro came close to equalising on 51 minutes, but her header went narrowly off target. The roles reversed in the second half with VCFF in possession and the Basque side trying to hit on the break in a highly-contested spell.
Bea Beltrán tried her luck with an effort outside the penalty arc following a fine solo move. VCFF continued to pile more pressure in search of the equaliser knocking the ball sideways looking to exploit the gaps in behind the Bilbao-side backline.
Carla Bautista made it 1-1 on 78 minutes, after capitalising on a poor defensive clearance to meet it with aplomb with a great header into the back of the net.
The scoreline remained unchanged and a valiant VCFF fightback saw them earn a point leaving them with a positive sensation against a tough Athletic Club side.
