Mestalla hosts II VCF Academy World Cup opening ceremony with the presence of Javi Guerra, Vicente and Tendillo

A centenary setting for this international U12 competition with 150 players from America, Asia and Europe.

The II VCF Academy World Cup has a very special opening ceremony this Thursday 29th June. The more than 150 U12 players from different parts of America, Asia and Europe will enjoy a very special afternoon in which they will be the main protagonists in an unbeatable setting: Mestalla, which celebrated its centenary in 2023.

Parade on the pitch

The inauguration of the II VCF Academy World Cup will begin with a colourful parade on the Mestalla pitch for the teams from the USA, Japan, Greece, Canada, Netherlands, Italy, Belgium and Cyprus, who will have the opportunity to have an on-pitch view of a historic venue that was inaugurated in 1923.

On the pitch at Camp de Mestalla they will meet Valencia CF player Javi Guerra, ambassador of this II VCF Academy World Cup, and former players and club ambassadors Miguel Tendillo -who won the 1979 Copa del Rey with Valencia CF, the 1980 Cup Winners' Cup and the 1980 Super Cup-, Vicente Vicente Vicente and Tendillo -who won the Copa del Rey with Valencia CF, the 1980 Cup Winners' Cup and the 1981 Super Cup - and Vicente Rodríguez, who was part of the Valencia CF team that won LaLiga, the UEFA Cup and the European Super Cup in 2004, as well as winning LaLiga in 2002 and the Copa del Rey in 2008.

Javi Guerra, Vicente and Tendillo will act as hosts on a special day for the participating teams and their companions, who will follow the entire opening ceremony from the stands of a pitch that they will have previously had the opportunity to visit on an exclusive Tour of Mestalla.

The opening ceremony of the II VCF Academy World Cup will give way to the competition that from Friday 30th June to Sunday 2nd July will be held at the Ciutat Esportiva de Paterna in a great atmosphere of football and multicultural coexistence.

The II VCF Academy World Cup is one of the actions that form part of the VCF Academy Programs. 

The VCF Soccer Academy that the VCF Academy has in strategic markets in North America, Europe, Africa and Asia are part of the VCF Soccer Academy Programs that help to expand the Valencia CF brand and what its colours symbolise worldwide. This Internationalisation Strategy has been a finalist in the World Football Summit Awards 2022.

The main objective of the VCF Soccer Academy Programs, in addition to expanding the image of Valencia CF and its Sentiment, Courage and Germanor philosophy around the world, is to take the Valencia CF training methods to any part of the planet and spread the values that have always accompanied this Club, making the participants enjoy and learn from the best professionals of the Valencia CF Academy, the sixth best in Europe in the training of players to compete at the elite level according to the latest reports from the CIES Football Observatory.

The Valencia CF Soccer Camps, Training Stages, the VCF Soccer Academy and the Sports Consultancy services are just some examples of this great project.
