Former Valencia CF player Momo Sissoko was back at the Ciudad Deportiva this week, in his new role as agent to some promising young talents. The former LaLiga, UEFA Cup and European Supercup winner was accompanying Fadiga Ouattara, the 19-year-old French striker who has joined VCF Mestalla on loan from LOSC Lille.
"Ouattara is a great talent from France -one of the best from there-," Sissoko told VCF Media. “He has now come to a big club and it will be good for him to leave home to understand what high-level football is all about.
“If he progresses well, both physically and mentally, he could be a surprise package for VCF Mestalla. He scores a lot of goals and a lot of quality, and is a forward with a strong left foot. He has everything to succeed at Valencia CF. I hope things go well for him, I trust in him a lot and I hope he will give 100%,” says Sissoko, who himself retired as a player last year after a career that began at Valencia CF.
“I am very happy to be at Valencia CF and I want to do well here. I know it is a very good opportunity for me and I want to prove the people who have trusted me right,” adds Ouattara, who last season played for Lille in the UEFA Youth League, scoring two goals against VCF Juvenil A.
Sissoko has been mentoring Ouattara on his first days in Valencia, which has allowed him to meet up with old colleagues like Miguel Ángel Angulo.
“I have so many memories of here and I am very happy to be back home. I played my first game as a professional at Valencia CF. When I arrived in Valencia I was 17 and now I’m 36. A lot of time has passed. This is a club that has an incredible history and coming back here is something special. I hope that Valencia CF can succeed like before, because this is a club that deserves to be at the top.”
