Match Report: VCF MESTALLA snatch late win against Nffc FC B (0-1)
oselu's last-gasp goal earned VCF Mestalla the win on Matchday 2 of the Premier League International Cup
VCF Mestalla head coach, Óscar Fernández will take on AE Prat for their third playoff match on Sunday at 12 pm kick-off time in the second phase of Segunda B.
“AE Prat are an all and all Segunda B side. They adapt really well to their artificial pitch, it’s a difficult pitch to play on and above all, they showcase the patterns of a Segunda B side.
They are a really compact side defensively and shut down the opposition options and going forward they take the initiative and when they cannot probe, they play an expansive type of football in the opposition’s half with big and pacey players up top as well as from deadball situations.
It’s going to be a really intense game with plenty of second ball situations so we’ll have to be really focused and alert to anything that can happen. As I always tell the boys, there’s going to be an option and then another and we have to think of the next one.
It’s going to be a highly contested game in tight areas and we have to be really alert and focused to be on top of it. We have to try to be ourselves, continue to do the things we’re doing well and improve the ones we’re doing wrong.
We’re not picking up wins but we’re working towards it and we’re going to change the dynamic”.
