Pablo Gozalbez: "Training with the first team is enriching and a very good experience"

Brought into the first team squad for training since the return of group sessions, VCF Academy product Pablo Gozalbez is motivated about the possible opportunity to make his debut during the packed schedule of upcoming fixtures. He spoke to VCF Media this week to talk about his daily routine and what it means to have got so far in his fledgling career to date.

"We arrive early, as training starts at 9am. I undergo a little bit of treatment, do some activation exercises and then we go out to train. Afterwards, I come back to the gym to stretch and then we all go home. After lunch I have a short siesta, then in the afternoon I study for my exams. At night I watch a little television after dinner and rest up to prepare for the next day," Gozalbez says of his routine.

"I'm approaching these days of training with a lot of excitement and desire. Being here training is a very good experience and very enriching. It's not just this, either; having spent two months at home, without being able to do what you enjoy, you value it when you come back."

"Training with the first team makes you a better player, little by little. We try to improve every day. We also want to be available and ready for if the first team need us," he says of the intentions he and other VCF Academy players have for the coming weeks.

Joining the stars of Valencia CF is not an entirely new experience for Gozalbez, however, as he has made occasional trips across the training pitch and beyond.

"I'd had a little bit of contact with them before, joining in training sessions and also going to Amsterdam for the game against Ajax. I've been treated very well. I've been really welcomed and people talk to me and ask me about things. I feel very good here."

"The club are showing a lot of confidence in me. What we try to do is give 100%, as when the time comes, we will be ready to repay their trust in us. We believe that we will be ready to perform at 100%."

As for what a first team debut in LaLiga would mean? For the boyhood Valencianista, things couldn't get much better.

"It would be a dream come true for me. It's what I've aimed for since I began playing football. Debuting for the first team would be an enormous personal satisfaction, and a dream come true."

"I've spent eleven years here already, and it's amazing. You look back and the time has gone by really quickly without realising. I had never imagined it; you always want to get here, and go even further, but you never thing "I'm here." Now that I look back on it, and all that I've been through, it's incredible. I'm so proud to be here and to continue progressing and improving."
