Parejo strikes from open play for first time this season

The captain grabbed his seventh LaLiga goal of 2019/20


Dani Parejo scored his seventh LaLiga goal in the match against Betis, which was also his first from open play this term. More renowned for his strikes from set pieces and penalties, the captain got on the end of a Daniel Wass assist inside the box to place the ball into the net with a deft finish.

“It was a great job by eveyrbody to earn the win today," said Parejo after the game. "In the toughest moments it's when the great teams come through."

The goal came at the end of a week in which several Valencia CF legends congraulated him with video messages for his breaking into the club's Top 10 appearance list.

Parejo is, according to OPTA, the LaLiga player who has provided the most points for his team thanks to his goals, with 10 points earned from 7 vial strikes.
