MATCH PREVIEW | VCF Mestalla looking for a win against Leicester City to change the dynamic
The reserve team faces its second match of the Premier League International Cup this Tuesday in England
Rubén Iranzo faces his 11th season at the VCF Academy and the Picanya-born central defender caught up with VCF Media to share his thoughts.
“We were looking forward to coming back. The first week is just an initial contact. First we undertook gym work and over these last few days on-field training to build up our fitness levels.
We all were looking forward to taking it to the pitch. Even more so, after the holiday break. It’s been a great experience.
It’s an exciting year. Working is our hallmark they have to put us through our paces in order for us to meet the objectives. The coaching staff’s message is clerar respect amongst ourselves, to the opposition, facilities and then the daily work in training and in home and away games…. That’s non-negotiable.
Having already worked under Angulo is a plus most of us already know his working methodology.
We have the chance to keep on working and improving. The new signings have adapted really well and we are all thrilled. We have to build a close-knit group, stick together over these first few games and adapt to what the gaffer wants from us ahead of the start of the competition to achieve anything that we set for ourselves.
The Tercera RFEF is going to be a huge challenge but we’re getting ourselves up for the start of the competition to be on form in order for us to win as many games as possible and put a shift in all of them.
Our collective objective for the season is to win promotion and we hope to do so."
