The 2018/19 season is shaping up to be one of Carlos Soler's most consistent to date, as he continues to establish himself as a cornerstone of the Valencia CF squad. The 22-year-old has made an impressive contribution so far this term, both in attack and defence.
He played a part in two goals scored in the 3-1 win over Levante UD this past weekend, setting up Gonçalo Guedes -his eighth assist of the season- and providing the shot off the post that Santi Mina followed up to turn over the line.
Thus far, the number 8 has had a direct influence in 13 goals this term, and has been an offensive force playing both in central midfield and on the right wing.
Defensively, Soler has provided cover for the fullbacks when they go forward, and has recovered 127 balls in the season so far.
The only thing eluding him in LaLiga has been his first goal, although he has got off the mark twice in the UEFA Champions League and twice with the Spain Under-21s side.
