Soler: "We have to focus on the final, enjoy it and win it"
Carlos Soler is focused on the final at La Cartuja and lifting the Copa del Rey for a second time with Valencia CF. The midfielder spoke to VCF MEDIA about the loss suffered against Villarreal CF and this weekend's crunch clash with Real Betis.
The result
We wanted to come here and take something positive, and it wasn't possible. We have to erase this and last Saturday's result against Osasuna from our minds, and focus on the final. We're going to give it our all that we have in our legs and heads, and our hearts, to win the final.
Motivation for the final
It's a final. It's practically 'all or nothing.' Winning it takes you into Europe, and if we are realistic then in it's going to be tough to do that via LaLiga. It's very difficult. Mathematically it isn't impossible, but we are going to be focused on the final. We're looking forward to it and we'll prepare for it well over the coming days. I hope that we can come home to Valencia with a win and an historic ninth Copa del Rey. There are few players who have won it, and I hope that this squad goes down in history.
The match of the year
There is no need to send any message. It is a final. It is the match of the year. It holds the key to entering Europe and to winning a trophy, and I think that people will be with us at the stadium, in Seville, in Valencia and in all corners of the world. We are going to leave everything to win that game and bring the cup home. The group deserves it and the fans do too.
The support of the fans
We owe it to our fans. We have a very big responsibility. We've been trying to achieve something big all season. It's tough in LaLiga and we have to think about this final. We're going to focus on it, enjoy it and win it.
