Mestalla brimming with emotions running high
Relive the emotional events that took place in the run-up to Valencia CF-Real Betis to pay tribute to the victims and those affected by the tragic flash floods
Valencia CF's return to LaLiga action involves a trip to Son Moix, where they will attempt to take 3 points against RCD Mallorca and continue their climb up the table.
The task at hand is a difficult one, given that their Balearic opponents have a strong home record since they rejoined the top flight last summer. During the first half of the season the team claimed 14 of their 15 points at their own stadium, including wins against the likes of Real Madrid (1-0), RCD Espanyol (2-0) and Villarreal CF (3-1).
Whilst their away form has not been as positive, contributing to their current position of 18th in LaLiga, Vicente Moreno's side have proven to be tough rivals for Valencia CF already this season. VCF were required to dig deep last September, and eventually overcame Mallorca thanks to two Dani Parejo penalties.
A clinical showing in front of goal may be required again this weekend, and Valencia CF are the second most effective side in converting their chances (20%), behind only FC Barcelona. They will be up against the team with the most goals conceded in LaLiga so far, with 33, and will attempt to add to that total for their first win at Son Moix since 2011.
