The best of Kondogbia's 100 LaLiga games

The midfielder made his 100th appearance in the Spanish top flight in the match against Alavés

Kondogbia reached the milestone of 100 LaLiga appearances when he featured in a starting role against Deportivo Alavés this past Friday. The midfielder has played in the Spanish top flight across two spells, first arriving in the league in the 2012/13 season as a 19-year-old.

Initially joining Sevilla from RC Lens in the French second tier, Kondogbia then went to Ligue 1 and Serie A in Italy before coming to Valencia CF. VCF Media have selected the key moments of his LaLiga career on the occasion of his one hundredth game.

Playing against Valencia CF for Sevilla
In his spell at Sevilla, Kondogbia played against Valencia CF in a thrilling game at the Sánchez Pizjuán. It came in the midst of a growing rivalry between the two clubs, and ended in a 4-3 win for Sevilla on the final day of the season. The future VCF star was one of the youngest players involved in the contest.

Debuting for VCF against Real Madrid
Following moves to AS Monaco and Internazionale, Kondogbia arrived at Mestalla in the summer of 2017 as a more well-rounded player four years on from his last LaLiga appearance. He was thrown straight in at the deep end, as he made his debut against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Having barely trained with his new teammates and just four days after his arrival, he was included in the starting lineup and scored against Los Blancos.

A strong first season
Kondogbia received an ovation at Mestalla in a game against Malaga, scored a long range rocket against RCD Espanyol that is one of his best goals to date, and provided two assists for Rodrigo at the Sánchez Pizjuan against former club Sevilla in a game that decided who would clinch fourth place in 2017/18. It came as no surprise when Valencia CF took up the option to buy him on a permanent deal.

Coming back from injury
Renowned for his personality, dedication and commitment, in his second season at Valencia CF Kondogbia would overcome adversity, having to undergo surgery for a muscle injury. He set himself the target of helping the team in the final part of the league season, as well as in the Copa del Rey final.

He came back into the squad for a season finale against Real Valladolid, in which Valencia CF once again secured fourth place.

100 LaLiga games
So far in the 2019/20 season, Kondogbia has scored against Atletico Madrid and contributed to a great victory over FC Barcelona, as well as continuing to act as one of the engines of the VCF defence.

The match against Alavés was his 100th in LaLiga. Although he will miss the derby against Levante on Matchday 28 through suspension -having picked up his fifth yellow card of the season- all signs point to Kondogbia making plenty more appearances in one of the best leagues in the world.
