Valencia CF Academy gets recognition at a sports gala
Diario Sport and LaLiga present VCF's Alevín A with an award for their behavior in last season’s LaLiga FC Futures
UFC fighters Brandon Moreno and Ilia Topuria were invited to Mestalla this past Sunday to watch Valencia CF's win over Getafe CF. Besides taking in the LaLiga game, the pair also spoke to players from the VCF Academy, giving their perspective on the dedication needed to succeed at the highest level.
“It all comes down to sacrifice and hard work” explained Moreno -a former UFC flyweight champion and the current interim title holder- to the VCF Cadete, VCF Fundació Cadete and VCF Feminino C players.
"You can't imagine the number of colleagues and friends who fell by the wayside whilst I kept moving forward" explained the Mexican fighter to the young talents, who were accompanied by those in charge of the Psychological-Educational Department.
They also talked about the importance of the training journey, learning and savouring every moment.
"Enjoy the process: What you do today is what you will receive tomorrow," highlighted lightweight fighter Topuria.
The two mixed martial artists also met with Gennaro Gattuso and several first team players, including Giorgi Mamardashvali, who -like Topuria- hails from Georgia.
