Valencia CF and Albacete BP agree facility-share alternative measure
Valencia CF have reached an agreement with Albacete Balompié, whereby the two clubs have designated their playing and training facilities as alternative locations for their respective men's first teams outside of their Autonomous Community, in the event of the authorities preventing the use of their own premises due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The agreement is a response to Provision 9.7 of Memo No. 4-20/21 sent by the RFEF (the Royal Spanish Football Federation).
On September 7th, the RFEF’s Management Commission approved the new basic rules of competition for the Primera División and Segunda División to adapt to the current situation generated by COVID-19, including the measure of establishing an alternative stadium for each club should they be unable to play at their facilities.
In the event of Valencia CF being unable to play at Mestalla due to circumstances deriving from the pandemic, they would play their official matches at the Carlos Belmonte stadium and train at the Ciudad Deportiva Andrés Iniesta. Likewise, if necessary, Albacete Balompié could use Mestalla and the Ciudad Deportiva at Paterna for the same purpose.
