E. Barrenechea: "We are having a great second half of the season"
The Valencia CF midfielder speaks to VCF Media
Valencia CF and the VCF Foundation have reinforced their longstanding collaboration with the Valencia region's Transfusion Centre, running a new blood donation drive at Mestalla. The initiative returns after the break caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, and also includes an appeal to plasma donors at the centre itself.
Valencia CF president, Anil Murthy, director general of the VCF Foundation, Teo Swee Wei, and club ambassador, Miguel Tendillo, went to the Transfusion Centre this week. They were welcomed by its director Cristina Arbona, to whom they handed over 500 Valencia CF scarves as gifts for plasma donors who come to the centre.
The scarves were gifted thanks to the solidarity of Soricastel, a supplier to VCF Stores and a collaborator with the VCF Foundation.
Mr. Murthy announced that on Tuesday, April 12th, a further blood donation day will be held at Mestalla, from 9:30am to 7:30pm. Each donor will receive a ticket for Valencia CF's game against CA Osasuna (while stocks last) on April 16th.
The club and the centre have been collaborating for more than 20 years, with 28 blood donations held at Mestalla that have involved more than 14,000 donors. The most recent was in February 2020, before the COVID-19 pandemic.
This collaboration is a further example of the social commitment of Valencia CF and the VCF Foundation. This season, the ADN Mestalla Solidari campaign has added to support shown to Asindown, Feder, cancer patients , those affected by ALS and victims of the war in Ukraine.
