Valencia CF pays tribute to Vicente Peris at Mestalla
Valencia CF paid tribute to Vicente Peris this Sunday at Mestalla on the 50th anniversary of his death. Last February 13 was the 50th anniversary of the death of the former manager of the Club and this Sunday a tribute was paid to him before the Valencia CF-FC Barcelona game, a match corresponding to the 25th matchday of LaLiga 21.22.
Merchina Peris, daughter of Vicente Peris, was invited to the box to watch the match and was able to experienced the applause that Mestalla dedicated to her father. Continuing with the tribute, the general director of the VCF Foundation, Teo Swee Wei, presented her on behalf of Valencia CF with a picture of Vicente Peris that had been published by the Club on social media.
"It has been a very intense week, with many acts of recognition, a tribute and that culminates now in a rounded way with this very emotional action from Valencia CF. I have been very moved. The designers have done a magnificent job based on an old photo and they have done it with sensitivity, delicacy and great taste," Merchina told VCF MEDIA.
In addition, Merchina was very excited to see how Mestalla remembered her father: "On top of the tribute on the pitch, which was my father's territory, which was his home, and with his fans, I am very excited. I am very grateful to Valencia CF for this gesture".
