The Club is one of the main collaborators of this NGO in Valencia, lending Mestalla stadium for the distribution of food to families in vulnerable situations
Valencia CF, represented by President Anil Murthy, and Executive Director Joey Lim, accompanied Her Royal Highness Queen Sofía of Spain this Thursday on an institutional visit to the Banco de Alimentos food bank headquarters in Valencia.
The royal figure is involved with food bank projects around Spain, in a committment that she has in common with Valencia CF. For almost a year, the club have hosted food distribution days for the Banco de Alimentos at Mestalla, helping families in the city most in need.
HRH Queen Sofía was welcomed by political figures such as the mayor of Pobla de Vallbona, Mr. Josep Vicent García Tamarit, and representatives of various companies who sponsor the Banco de Alimentos, including CaixaBank. She was informed of the great work that the entity carries out in the city of Valencia.
After the event, Mr. Murthy said that "one of the fundamental values of Valencia CF is solidarity, and we are determined to continue working on actions like this to continue helping Valencian society."
Jaume Serra, president of the Banco de Alimentos, commented that “It has called HRH Queen Sofia’s attention than an entity like Valencia CF have loaned their facilities to become as supportive as they have been in the city of Valencia."
