Diego López: "We're going for the win at the Santiago Bernabéu"
The Valencia CF forward spoke to the media in a press conference
Valencia CF's extraordinary 2018/19 season has been reflected by UEFA in their annual club ranking, announced this week. Marcelino's side have risen some 30 places in the past 12 months, currently occupying 39th.
The coefficient ranking is calculated based on results in club competitions organised by UEFA, the European governing body. With the club not having participated in either the Europa League or Champions League in the previous two campaigns, their points tally had been 'frozen', but their involvement this year led to them picking up a total of 23,000 points.
VCF finished 3rd in Group H of the UEFA Champions League in 2019/20, with 8 points, and past the turn of the year they were in UEFA Europa League action, eliminating Celtic FC, FC Krasnodar and Villarreal CF before losing in the semifinal stage against Arsenal.
The club will be back into the Champions League draw this season, thanks to their finishing fourth in LaLiga on the final matchday of 2018/19.
